Biography


João Gabriel Rossi de Borba is a Master's program student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Brasilia, Brazil, where he has been since March 2023. He received his bachelor degree in Software Engineering from University of Brasilia (2022). His research interests are mostly in Software Engineering including Requirements Engineering, Privacy and Ethical Requirements, Software Systems and topics such as Artificial Intelligence.

His research is focused in investigating techniques, methods, methodologies, frameworks and tools regarding AI ethics to develop an automated tool to operationalize/support AI ethical and privacy related requirements at all Software Engineering stages, such as elicitation, documentation and implementation.

Biography


Renan Costa Filgueira : Master in Applied Computing (2017) and Software Engineer (2014) from the Universidade de Brasília - UnB. He is currently a PhD student in Informatics at the University of Brasilia, a professor at the Centro Universitário Projeção and an IT analyst at Banco de Brasília - BRB. Experience in the area of Computer Science, with emphasis on software engineering, working mainly on the following topics: requirements, architecture, software evolution and software quality.

My research focuses on exploring the ethical requirements within the realm of artificial intelligence (AI). Ethical considerations are increasingly crucial as AI continues to evolve and integrate into various aspects of society. My work delves into the intricate intersection of technology and ethics, aiming to identify, analyze, and propose frameworks that ensure AI systems adhere to ethical standards. By examining the ethical implications of AI development, deployment, and usage, my research aims to contribute valuable insights towards creating responsible, transparent, and ethical AI systems.

Biography

 

Bachelor in Biotechnology (2021) from the University of Brasília - UnB. She is currently a Master student in Eletrical Engineering at the University of Brasilia and an UX Designer at Confederação Nacional do Transporte - CNT. Experienced in the are of Software Engineering, with emphasis on requirements elicitation, software tests and user interface. Her current research focuses on elaborating a model to document novel types of requirements in chatbots.

Geovana Ramos Sousa Silva is a researcher and IT professional based in Brasilia. Currently pursuing her Ph.D., she serves as a volunteer professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Brasilia (UnB) and works as an IT Analyst at Banco do Brasil. Geovana holds a Master's degree in Informatics and a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, both earned at the University of Brasilia (UnB).

Geovana's research revolves around the realm of software engineering, with a particular emphasis on the development of chatbots. Her expertise encompasses diverse aspects, including human-chatbot interaction, conversation-driven development, model-driven development, and quality assurance.

Biography

 
Guilherme received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Federal Institute of Brasília in 2022. Currently, he is pursuing his Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Brasilia while also working as a data scientist. His expertise lies in Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering with a specialization in anomaly detection in the tax industry, medical image classification, and legal text classification.

 

Research


His research is centered around Natural Language Processing for Requirements Engineering. The research aims to develop an AI model that can extract software requirements from issues in open-source software repositories. The goal is to contribute to existing databases on software requirements by spreading and advancing research in the field of NLP for Requirements Engineering.

Biography

 

Master's student in Informatics at the University of Brasília (UnB) in the Artificial Intelligence Research Line, Specialist in Big Data Analytics (2020) and Database and Business Intelligence (2018), both from FACSENAC. Graduated in Systems Analysis and Development from the Catholic University of Brasília (2015). I am a Data Scientist with experience in predictive modeling and Natural Language Processing (NLP) projects applied to the Financial Market.

Research


The focus of my research is to assist applications based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to be developed and implemented responsibly and fairly from the project's conception. This involves validating whether the ethical requirements elicited are in line with established ethical standards.

Bachelor in Computer Science (2022) from the University of Brasilia (UnB). Currently, a MSc student in Informatics at the University of Brasilia. Experience in the area of Computer Science, with emphasis on software engineering, working on topics regarding privacy, such as: software data privacy, personal data protection laws, privacy requirements.

Research


My research aims to explore the application of privacy in software systems. The increasing number of privacy laws worldwide, particularly focusing on software, is a prominent trend. The study seeks to identify similarities and differences among renowned privacy laws, pinpoint implementation challenges, and propose a guide to assist developers in globalized companies. Through parameterizing the scope of each law and its principles, the research strives to ensure compliance with multiple privacy laws and mitigate negative consequences for organizations.


   Ricardo Cordeiro Galvão Sant’Ana van Erven

Biography

 

Ricardo van Erven is a master's student in the Postgraduate Program in Applied Computing (PPCA) at the Computer Science Department at the University of Brasília. His line of research is Software Engineering in the field of User Experience Design and is supervised by PhD Professor Edna Canedo. He is passionate about entrepreneurship and knowledge. Believes in knowledge as a way to improve the world and the world around us and seeks ways to apply it to generate impact and value, whether in personal or professional life, but realizes that the behaviors we encourage daily bring the results we want. 


He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Brasília (2011), a specialization in MBA in Strategic IT Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, and a specialization in IT Management in Public Administration from Faculdade JK. He is currently a Judicial Analyst specializing in Systems Analysis at the Superior Labor Court and chief advisor to the ICT Governance and Management Support Advisory - AGTIC - of the ICT Secretariat. 


Throughout his journey, he worked on ICT projects in various roles focusing on discovering user needs and planning the solution. Acting, among other activities required for products, as a developer, scrum master, UX/UI designer, software support leader, corporate architecture leader, strategy, portfolio and ICT projects leader, and user experience leader. He collaborates to create innovative products that solve real problems.

Master's student in Informatics at the University of Brasília and researcher in the Software requirements field. Graduated as a Software Engineer (2014) and postgraduated in Information Technology Governance (2018). He worked in the ICT Governance Coordination of São Paulo's Municipal Innovation and Technology office as a Planning and Organizational Development Analyst in Information and Communication Technology. He received a scholarship from the federal government -Science Without Borders Program (CAPES), studying one year of his degree at Siena College, NY and Carnegie Mellon University, PA, United States. He has worked on research on the following topics: Application of agile software development methodologies in the Federal Public Administration, Software Validation, Process architecture and requirements in Software Engineering.

Ph.D. student in Informatics at the University of Brasilia (UnB) focusing on Artificial Intelligence research, Master's in Computer Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2005), specializing in Software Engineering - Software Architecture, and Bachelor's in Computer Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (2002). I have technical knowledge and experience in project management using the PMBOK best practices guide and Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).

 

I have undergone training and worked for ten years in the Business Intelligence field using platforms like MicroStrategy, SAP BOE, Google Looker, and Power BI. I have extensive experience in business process modeling using BPMN notation, business analysis, IT prospecting, software requirement elicitation, analysis and specification, reverse engineering, software analysis and design using UML diagrams, RUP methodology, and web systems development using PHP, ASP, Servlet, JSP, Ajax, and programming in Java and PRO*C languages.

 

I have worked as a SAP business analyst, specifically in the SAP Sales  Distribution (SD) and SAP Finance (FI) modules.
